USA gone broke!

Friday, August 3, 2007

In the light of the tragic collapse of the Mississippi bridge in the USA, a full evaluation of the US infrastructure has been done, and shocking numbers have been revealed, showing that the USA, the planet's richest nation has never been in a worse shape.

According to CBS news, about 27% of the bridges in the united states are concidered "out of service", and the US infrastructure needs 1.59 trillion (that's a million billion and 590 million, or 1.59 times 10 to the power of 13!) US dollars for repairs! which means that every US citizen has to pay 53,000 US dollars to get his bridges, water and electricity up and running for the next few years! (you do the maths, 1.59 trillion divided by 301,139,947 which is the US population)

Will numbers like this affect the world economy which in turn affects us? will they change the US policies in Iraq? You all know they have been spending billions upon billions on the war, this money could have helped a little with their infrastructure, couldn't it?!

Waiting for your comments.
